What does BME do?
BME is lobbying in certain countries to open the markets for certain productgroups. There is a complex coordination between the EU, Belgian and overseas governments to be able to open difficult markets in a sustainable way. For meat the sanitary demands are sometimes very high, which results in serious investments from the companies that want to export to that specific market. The company will produce for that specific market in a very specific way, at the in that country demanded level. Not all these demands are common knowledge, not all the governments are that transparent and there is not really a "manual to export to China". BME advises you in these matters and helps you to optimize your chances to export. Quick Wins are not applicable, opening a nex market costs a lot of time and money, a lot of steps have to be taken to obtain the goals.
